8am – 12 pm
Today will be a day to explore the city of Alexandria and understand more about its
unique identity and mixture of both Greek and Egyptian style . You will start your tour
today by a transfer to Kom Dikka Region. Kom El Dikka is a Heritage area of ancient
Alexandria and here you will experience your first local breakfast in a traditional street
food cart. Locals would have their breakfast in front of these food carts while standing
and exchanging conversations. You will be experiencing some of the local cuisine such
as fava beans, falafel, traditional egyptian omelet and much more. After breakfast, you
will walk in the Kom Dikka region and witness some of the old buildings till we reach the
Roman Amphitheatre and the exhibition for sunken monuments of Alexandria. The
theater complex was built with materials from all over the world and is a true
representation of how life in Hellenistic time looked like. You will get to explore the
theater, roman baths, a street and some villas that survived from the 4th century A.D.
Moreover, it is the location of a collection of statues that were saved from underwater in
the eastern harbor.
12 pm – 1:30 pm
It will be time to go to eat lunch in one of the traditional restaurants in Alexandria. You
will experience mix grills as well as local Egyptian food such as vine leaves, Mosaka
and several other Mediterranean sea items .
1:30 pm – 4 pm
Later we will move to visit the Mostafa Kamel Necropolis. It dates back to the 3rd
Century AD. and was discovered in 1933. Mostafa Kamel Necropolis has four different
tombs with interesting depictions that date back to the Hellenistic time. After the
Necropolis, you will have a stroll in the National Maritime Museum in Alexandria. This
museum will provide you with in depth information about the Maritime history of Egypt,
such as ships, models, some famous battles as well related marine life. At the end, you
will return back to your hotel.
